Cloud – Private or Public cloud – has become default platform for developing and deploying business critical applications. We find that more and more customers are moving their databases too on the cloud platform.  When you move to Cloud as a platform some of the usual infrastructure approaches do not hold true e.g. a floating IP is not allocated at network level but usually is assigned to a server using a mechanism (e.g. API).

Through the series of hangout sessions we would be highlighting Cloud specific tips and tricks to get most out of your Postgres deployment. In this particular hangout, we would take you through how you can:

  • Setup redundancy for Postgres on the cloud platform and database-as-a-Service platforms e.g. AWS RDS
  • Use  some of the tools in your datacenter that are still relevant and how to tweak them to work with Cloud Infrastructure

This hangout would help you understand:

  • Configuring, tuning, and deploying PostgreSQL with redundancy
  • Setting up automated failover, setting up load-balancing and performing cluster monitoring Credentials

It could be it with a Postgres Instance running on IaaS Virtual machine or with Postgres-as-a-service.
