Why full-stack observability matters now
The Reserve Bank of India has retired a sprawl of circulars in favour of consolidated Master Directions on IT governance, cybersecurity, technology risk, resilience, and assurance. This is not only a financial services story. SEBI and IRDAI have moved the same way, and regulators beyond India are converging on the same expectations.
The substance is consistent. The board owns technology and cyber risk. Continuity and recovery have to be formally tested rather than asserted. Evidence has to be produced on demand.
Siloed visibility no longer survives that. Institutions need a unified, end-to-end view across every layer, in real time.
Most organisations are not starting from zero, and that is the difficulty. Logs sit in one place, APM in another, metrics somewhere else again. Each piece works. Together they cannot answer one question from front end to database, which is exactly the shape of question you are now being asked.
Getting that foundation right is also the precondition for agentic AIOps. An agent can only triage an incident if it can retrieve the right logs, traces, and metrics, with the right context, in seconds.
Strengthening security and digital resilience
Cybersecurity remains a priority in every boardroom in India, and the regulatory picture is tightening in step. SEBI’s mandate for formal SOC audits is one example of a broader sweep across financial services and insurance, pushing organisations from asserting security to proving it. India’s mandatory six-hour incident reporting window turns detect and respond into a hard deadline.
Meeting a clock like that is a data problem before it is a security problem. Security and observability share a foundational requirement, which is clean, structured data at scale. Unifying SIEM, endpoint, and cloud security eliminates the silos between SOC analysts and DevOps engineers that cost you the first hour of every incident.
If you are accountable for that window, the question is not whether your tools can detect. It is whether your data is in a shape that lets you investigate, decide, and evidence in time.
Search and agentic AI, past the hype
The conversation dominating C-suites across India today is agentic AI. India’s scale and diversity place unique demands on these systems, with hundreds of millions of digitally connected citizens, dozens of languages, and urban and regional markets with very different needs.
With the Digital Personal Data Protection Act moving into phased compliance, every enterprise handling personal data faces real constraints around consent, breach notification, and data transfers. For agentic AI to be viable at scale here, it has to be not just capable but provably safe and auditable.
That shifts the conversation from what AI can do to whether your data infrastructure can support it responsibly. An agent is only as good as what it can retrieve. Feed it fragmented, stale data and you get a confident answer nobody can verify, which in a regulated environment is worse than no answer.
