The Position

Kickstart your career in open-source data engineering! Join Ashnik as a NiFi Support Engineer (L1/L2) and grow into a specialist in enterprise data integration and monitoring.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 2–4 years in IT operations/support (data, middleware, or DevOps background)
  • Foundational Knowledge in:
    Linux/Unix administration (processes, logs, performance monitoring).
    NiFi or experience with ETL / Integration tools (Talend, Informatica, Pentaho etc)
    Monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, or ELK.
    Incident/ticket management tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, Remedy).
  • Desirable Skills (good to have, trainable):
    Familiarity with messaging/data platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Tibco, MQ Series).
    Basic scripting skills in Bash or Python for automation.
    Understanding of containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with eagerness to learn NiFi.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily operational checks to ensure NiFi cluster health and availability.
  • Monitor system dashboards (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK) and respond promptly to alerts.
  • Review logs to detect errors, risks, or performance bottlenecks, escalating to L2/L3
    when needed.
  • Assist with configuration changes, patching, and routine maintenance of NiFi clusters
  • Execute runbooks and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for recurring issues.
  • Support periodic health checks covering performance, security, compliance, and patching activities.
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide first-level support for NiFi deployments.
  • Document findings, update knowledge base, and contribute to operational efficiency
