Today, our parent company Hitachi, a global leader across industries, infrastructure and technology, announced the formation of Hitachi Vantara, a company whose aim is to help organizations thrive in today’s uncertain and turbulent times and prepare for the future. This new company unifies the mission and operations of Pentaho, Hitachi Data Systems and Hitachi Insight Group into a single business as Hitachi Vantara. Together, we give business leaders an advantage to find and use the value in their data, innovate intelligently and reach outcomes that matter for business and society.
So what does this mean for Pentaho? Let’s break it down:
Manage risk in uncertain times
The key to enterprise transformation lies within data. This is no secret. Big data, IoT and machine learning are already changing the world of data from one that is siloed to one where data is connected, open and fluid. Established barriers across infrastructure, operational technologies (OT) and IT, and across the broader world of societies and populations, are blurring. Ultimately, no company can navigate through this uncertainty without the capabilities needed to build data-driven businesses.
Within this new world, however, organizations have infrastructure and data that drives and efficiently runs day-to-day business in a way that cannot be disrupted. Organizations need technologies that can work with existing data and infrastructures, but also take advantage of new and emerging data types and technologies to turn businesses into digital enterprises.
The power of Hitachi
Introducing Vantara: A combination of IT, operational technology (OT) and domain expertise. With Pentaho Data Integration and analytics software, Vantara gives organizations the power to capture and use data efficiently from the ‘edge’ where data moves fluidly—generated by sensors and devices outside of the internals of day-to-day business—and combine that sensor data with more traditional enterprise data assets to provide a high level of context and intelligent predictions that lead to real business outcomes.
It has been over two years since Pentaho was acquired by Hitachi. After successful collaboration it is evident that we have a unified vision: creating data-driven solutions that move industries forward from data to transformation. With Pentaho, HDS and Hitachi Insight Group integrated to grow Hitachi Vantara’s solution capabilities, Hitachi Vantara drives data to meaningful outcomes and helps customers change the way business – and the world – works.
The Pentaho software is here to stay
Pentaho data integration and analytics will continue to evolve, and Hitachi Vantara will invest to stay ahead of future developments in big data, IoT and machine learning. We know what our customers need and with the power and resources of Hitachi, we can get them there even faster.
